Before I took off for a run, I prepared a hot cup of Milo (chocolate energy drink), walked for a minute or two, had my nike+ ready on its proper settings and made sure I have the right tunes to listen to.
1 Mile = 11′53”
3k = 19′30”
in comparison to my previous PR of
1 mile (1.6km) in 11 minutes
3 km in 21 minutes
I slowed down by almost a minute during my first mile because I had to hold myself on pause, walked really slow and felt that I was about to have my shin splits again. Before it even happened I paced myself and took my time. It wasn’t that bad, thank heavens there wasn’t any sore that happened although I really do think I’ve got to loosen up and stretch more on my calves.
I did few high knees and that tiny fast run ( i don’t know how to call it) and it felt really awesome. Interval training is that it? and few side runs.
I Improved in terms of my 3km however i wasn’t able to finish my 2 mile goal. I had to cut my route and take myself home before the dark scares me to death. I still want to take a good jog though since there are tons of things that has been boggling my mind again.
The more I’m getting serious to this running, the more I feel its getting tighter and harder but each time I have that thought, I screen it out and remember the first stride I did that day I took myself to the gym while I was tapering those steroids and felt really awful, the tear that I had and how much I have gone after that day.
I really no longer want to get sick. I want to have myself back to tip top shape and get to move my ass to places without thinking about getting sick or the fact that I’m prone to get sick because of my low immune system. No, That’s never going to happen. I’m working at my best and I will be what I dream to be like.
Let’s see how it’ll turn out tomorrow since I’m due for a 3 mile run according to my Nike+ Coach.
